Elias Howe

1819- Elias Howe was born in Spencer Massachusetts.
1835- Howe is apprenticed at a textile mill.
1837- Howe moves to Lowell Massachusetts to work in a machine shop.
1845- Howe develops successful machine.
1854- Howe sues Isaac Singer for stealing his idea and he wins.
1861- Howe enlists as a private during the U.S. Civil War.
1867- Elias Howe dies.
